Titles, effects and transitions

Each has its own panel on the rail. All three have a search box, category filters, and a star to keep your favourites at hand.

Titles

Hover over a title to preview it on your picture. Click it to add it to the timeline at the playhead. Select the title clip to change its text and style in the inspector.

Effects

Drag an effect onto a clip on the timeline. Its settings then appear in that clip's inspector, where you can adjust it, reset it, or remove it.

Transitions

Set the Duration at the top of the panel, then:

• drag a transition onto the edge of a clip to fade it in or out, or onto the cut between two clips to mix one into the other; or
• select a clip and click a transition's In or Out button to apply it to that clip's start or end.

The default length of new transitions is set in Preferences → General.
